RESILIENCE

Family is important. I can’t stress how important that is. In the end we only have family to depend on. The family reunion scheduled for July 4th weekend this year is important for all family members to attend. 

In 2023 at our first family reunion we honored our ancestors in the Farnum Family. This year we have to look at carrying that legacy forward in these “interesting times” we live in. 

With the new political environment, open hostility to DEI ( Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion ) on all levels of American society it brings us to a crossroads. 

There is a legend that if you want to make a deal with the devil, meet him at midnight at the crossroads. The devil is not meeting secretly at the crossroads. The devil is openly pursuing his agenda of hate and fear and chaos. The devil is making Faustian deals with racists and white supremacists under the guise of making America great again. 

The fear of population reversal; where “whites” are the minority is the real issue facing America. No matter how many people are deported, no matter how many goals are made with Project 2025; the population change is coming within 10 years. 

The Jim Crow era of oppression is over in the United States, but police oppression has never stopped. The Black Family is the basis of our strength as a people in the light of 400 years of oppression. 

In the past family reunions were used by our people to keep in touch and increase family unity. 

Thousands of Black Families immigrated to Northern States to escape the Jim Crow south. Now, voter gerrymandering, and gentrification of Black and Brown neighborhoods are being used to economically oppress people of color. 

I am encouraging All family members to participate and attend this years Farnum Family Reunion. Family unity and access to resources will be critical over next four years.
